Explosive growth meant extreme demands on storage and backup

Danske Commodities (DC) using IT to realize a business vision with constantly moving boundaries puts great demands on backup and storage. This was what sparked DC’s decision in 2014 to partner with B4Restore, which took responsibility for designing, implementing and operating a new backup and storage platform. The platform set new standards for both storage finances and the service level of DC’s business.

Costs cut in half

One of the most notable results of DC’s new backup and storage strategy is the significantly improved finances it brought with it. "When you’re growing as fast as we are, you have to keep an eye on IT costs. Our new backup and storage platform has cut 50% of our costs compared to our previous setup. Among other things, this is due to B4Restore’s totally transparent pay-as-you-go model, which ensures that we only pay for the amount of data we store," says Lars Vedelø, Head of Hosting at Danske Commodities.

In the 24/7 global trade of energy-related commodities, an innovative approach has been the basis for Danske Commodities (DC) unfathomable growth rate. And IT has been the company’s essential driving force.
